According to media reports, Bangladesh's current account deficit stood at $17.20 billion in 11 months and Bangladesh has sought a loan from the IMF for external payments and budget support.

It has been stated in the media reports that there will be no interest on the loan of 1 billion 50 million dollars, while 3 billion dollars will have 2 percent interest.

The report further states that a staff level agreement will be drawn up in December and the agreement will be presented to the board for approval in January.
