Pakistan's Noah Dastgir Butt won the gold medal in the 109+ weightlifting category.
Noah Dastgir Butt lifted a total weight of 405 kg and won the gold medal. He lifted 173 kg in snatch and 232 kg in clean and jerk.
Noah Dastgir's lifts of 173 kg in the snatch and 232 kg in the clean and jerk are Commonwealth Games record lifts in the 109+ weight category.
It should be remembered that Noah Dastgir also won the bronze medal for Pakistan in 2018, while he won the silver medal in the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship held in December last year.
Noah Dastgir Butt's gold is only Pakistan's second gold medal in Commonwealth Games history, before Shujauddin Malik won the weightlifting gold for Pakistan in 2006.
It should be noted that Pakistan has won two medals in the ongoing Commonwealth Games. Earlier, Shah Hussain Shah won a bronze medal in Judo. Shah Hussain Shah defeated the South African judoka to win the bronze medal.
