The FIFA World Cup 2022 is likely to start a day earlier than the scheduled schedule

The FIFA World Cup 2022 to be held in Qatar is likely to start a day ahead of its scheduled schedule.

The first match of the FIFA World Cup between the hosts Qatar and Ecuador will be played on Sunday, November 20, possibly a day ahead of schedule.

Earlier, the first match of the tournament between Senegal and the Netherlands was scheduled for Monday, November 21, but the FIFA governing body's administrative affairs section has given a proposal to shift the first match to Qatar.

At the request of the South American confederation, FIFA held talks with Qatar and Ecuador as the tournament's tradition is that the first match is played by the host team.

FIFA has confirmed the schedule of Football World Cup 2022

The said proposal has been sent to the Bureau of FIFA Council consisting of 6 Federations and the FIFA President for final approval from where the new schedule will be implemented after possible approval.

After the proposal was approved by the Bureau of FIFA Council, the match between Senegal and the Netherlands will be played on Monday, the second day of the tournament, and only three games will be played instead of four.

This new schedule will not affect the Iran match in Group B, while the new schedule will not affect the Wales and USA matches.
