There are reports of the death of many people, including the imam of the mosque, in an explosion outside a mosque in the province of Herat, Afghanistan.
According to Afghan media, the imam of the mosque, Maulvi Mujib Ansar, came out of the mosque after performing the Friday prayer, when there was a loud explosion.
According to the police, Maulvi Mujib Ansar along with his brother were killed in the blast while guards and other civilians were also injured.
According to local sources, at least 20 people, including Maulvi Mujeeb Ansar, were killed and 200 people were injured in the blast, but this has not been confirmed by official sources.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the blast, but Afghan security sources have expressed fears that Daesh may be behind the blast.
After the explosion, the Taliban security forces have surrounded the area while emergency has been imposed in the hospitals.
